Cas' Cakery

Project: Website Redesign

Cas reached out for a meeting about her website in April 2023, quickly signing on to secure her website rebuild before EOFY.

She was experiencing issues with her website's navigation. Customers often had a hard time finding what they were looking for, so a streamlined and intuitive design was top priority.

But she also had exciting changes coming in her business...

Here's what was happening in Cas's business...

Cas's studio was nearing completion, meaning she could offer workshops (that she had delivered around Australia) from her private studio in Merigandan. New photography in her studio made an enormous difference to the visuals we had available for the web design process.

Further, Cas was wanting to open her business to more work with women, outside of baking. She wasn't sure if she needed to separate this area of her work, or if it could stand alongside her baking business. I worked with her to understand her heart for this new area, and found the perfect way to incorporate her business values and heart throughout the one website.

Cas's website served her business beautifully as she stepped into her next season of business and life. She ran baking workshops for 18 months from her studio and shipped her physical products worldwide.

However, she has since evolved again and you can see my ongoing work with her new brand, Cas Watene. Cas continues to sell her online courses which I highly recommend, having purchased them myself.

Website Project Objectives:

  • Make navigation clear for customers.

  • SEO.

Subsequent projects included:

  • Adding images from a second shoot to the website (field photos).

  • Print flyers to promote workshops locally.

  • Business card design.

Early in my teaching career I had the pleasure of working closely with many  Aboriginal people. It opened my eyes to beautiful stories, values, knowledge and connections. I work with people all around this country, so I'd like to take a moment to acknowledge all ATSI peoples and their history on this shared land.
